Monte cristo breakfast sandwiches are a delicious tradition for Christmas morning— This casserole version of the sweet and savory dish makes it easy to whip up for a crowd.

  • 1 lb loaf Dave Killer Organic White Bread, cut into cubes
  • 8 slices Apple Smoked Swiss Cheese, chopped
  • ½ lb Tacoma Boys Honey Ham, sliced and chopped
  • 4 Vital Farms Eggs
  • 1 ½ cups Smith Brothers Farms Milk
  • Pinch salt and pepper
  • Powdered sugar, to serve
  • Jam, to serve

Directions

  • Mix Ingredients

    Place the bread cubes, cheese, and ham to a medium baking dish and toss to combine and distribute evenly.
  • Add Milk & Eggs

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour evenly over the bread cubes in the baking dish.
  • Let Sit

    Let sit for at least 20-60 minutes, then preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Bake the Casserole

    Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the cheese is melted and a toothpick inserted into the bread comes out clean (this will ensure the egg is cooked).
  • Let Cool & Enjoy!

    Let cool for 5 minutes then serve with powdered sugar and your favorite jam!
