Mixed Berry 4th of July Trifle

This mixed berry trifle is full of red, white, and blue and perfect for 4th of July! The easy dessert is a popular favorite for potlucks and picnics or a Sunday family gathering.

  • 2 cups Smith Brothers Farm Heavy Whipping Cream
  • ¼ cup Stonewall Kitchen Maple Syrup
  • ½ tsp Simply Organic Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1, 15-19 oz box vanilla cake mix - prepared according to package instructions
  • 1 lb strawberries, sliced
  • 8 oz blueberries
  • 8 oz blackberries

Directions

  • Cut the Cake

    Allow the cake to cool completely, then cut the baked cake into 1” cubes.
  • Make the Whipped Cream

    Make the whipped cream: Add the heavy cream to a large bowl along with the maple syrup and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until light and fluffy and stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes.
  • Assemble the Trifle

    Place a layer of cake cubes in the bottom of a trifle bowl. Top with about half of the whipped cream. Top with a handful of sliced strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Repeat with another layer of cake, whipped cream, and a mountain of berries on top.
  • Serve & Enjoy!

    Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or until ready to serve!
