Tips for Picking out the Perfect Spring Flowers

Inspect the Petals and Stems

When looking at flowers, a pro move is to inspect the petals and stems.

The petals should look pristine, without any blackened tips or brown marks. If spots or marks are present, this indicates that the flowers are past their prime and won’t last very long back at home.

At the same time, give the stems a quick peek. Are they wet? If so this means that they have been in water which is a good indicator that the flowers will last well.

Buying flowers in season guarantees that not only will you get the best prices, but you will also get the best blooms, as most flowers flourish optimally during their natural season.  We get plants in during the proper season and rotate them out as the season continues with other amazing flowers and flowering plants.

If you are purchasing a spray of flowers for yourself, start thinking about the vase you want to display them in and how this will work with the structure of the arrangement. If you are buying flowers for someone you know very well (such as your mother) you might be able to envision their vase as well.
