What Creates an Amazing Thanksgiving?
As we fall deeper into the season, Thanksgiving is just two and a half weeks away! With that, we want to give our thanks and share some one-of-a-kind suggestions to make this Thanksgiving an unforgettable gathering. Tacoma Boys is grateful to all of our customers. Thanksgiving has always been a time to slow down, take time, and create amazing dishes and wonderful memories with those we hold most dear. Ever since the early 1600’s folks have been coming together for an end-of-harvest celebration of togetherness and bounty. We have much to be thankful for in the PNW, especially since we do have so many “harvests.” It seems there’s almost always something new and fresh coming to our shelves!
Because of this, we want to share a few ways we can help make this holiday truly one of a kind. At Tacoma Boys, we know the value of brining quality as the better buy, and on Thanksgiving, quality is even more important. We remember seeing friendly faces, enjoying conversations, and above all else, the meal itself! When you’re opening your home or visiting someone close, make sure you follow this advice to make everything simply perfect.
One of a kind beverages
What type of beverage you serve is a timeless decision. Maybe not one that plagued our mead-loving friends of Plymouth for their first Thanksgiving, but as we’ve progressed in the art of celebrating this holiday, the wine selection process has progressed as well! If you’re thinking about wine, our wines have a wide variety of flavors, giving them the ability to pair nicely with your Thanksgiving meal.
If those at your gathering prefer white wine, make sure it’s one that can hold its own! There are many flavors, tastes, and textures happening on everyone’s plate, and you don’t want the wine to be “just another part” of the meal. Whites such as Riesling and Pinot Grigio go well with your main meal. Rieslings also are a favorite when it’s time to bring out the pumpkin pie!
Red wine more your style? Then you can’t go wrong with a Pinot Noir or Zinfandel. These wines aren’t too heavy or loaded with a high alcohol content, so they’ll pair nicely with the most carb-loaded meal we eat each year. With the versatility of Pinot Noirs, it balances out everything from turkey to veggies!
Or maybe your crowd is full of beer drinkers who don’t know or care about having a wine at the table. What do you do then? You’ll want to reach for an ale or lager! In a throwback to the days of old, a nice ale will remind you and your palate what an all-American Thanksgiving is meant to taste like! Ciders are also a great choice here as this time of year always calls for something crisp and flavorful.

It’s no wonder we so love this bird and all the juicy flavor it provides!
