Wine and Food Pairings
When it comes to holiday wine and food pairings, you can always pair some snacks to enjoy with a beverage before dinner. Charcuterie spreads with Tacoma Boys’ specialty cheeses and meat from the deli are easily customizable with the wines you choose. Set up a wine sampling with a meat and cheese board. And be sure to include seasonal ingredients like pumpkin butter, cranberry sauce, fresh rosemary, and more. Then, throw some crusty bread and creamy brie cheese on the cheese board. These flavors will go great with rich red wine as well as light and bright whites or sparkling wines. Same goes for wine and food pairings with snacking foods like these offered at Tacoma Boys:
- Kaukauna Port Wine Spreadable Cheese
- Tillen Farms Classic Pickled Crunchy Carrots
- Crescent Meats Jalapeno Sticks

When it comes to incorporating wine and food in wine recipes, people often reach for a dry red or white. A dry wine is good for deglazing a pan to bring out all the flavors you’ve been cooking. Wines also go great in sauces, like a red wine reduction for steak or a white wine shrimp scampi.
When making tomato and marinara sauces, a splash of any red wine adds flavor and acid — Just make sure it’s not too sweet of a wine or adjust your flavors accordingly. And when cooking with wine, most everyone says that cooking wine should be as tasty as drinking wine. If you wouldn’t drink it, don’t cook with it! That being said, any choice from Tacoma Boys is sure to be delicious on its own or in wine recipes. Be sure to ask for assistance if looking for a certain type of wine: We can help you narrow down the choices from the hundreds of bottles to peruse!
